Something else I was noticing....Isn't Randall spelled with 2 Ls? On that truck it has only one....

Randal has but one 'L.'

Randal trucks are fun, turny trucks, but they could stand some beefing up (and better QC). One of our best-selling items is a grade-8 kingpin that we sell to a LOT of Randal riders.

So how would you know if you should replace your kingpins???

Wonder if he managed to salvage HIS kingpins...

I wouldn't have been able to save my undies, that's for SURE...

looks funny with the threaded section of the bolt sticking out. I use my 180's for bowls and stuff so i put the bolt the other way so there is no hang ups. not important for slalom i gues....nevermind

I dont think people run slalom on randals. They are too wide. Some folks do cut them down and run them. You are right about kingpin stciking over the hanger it does not matter.

Okay, cynical question:

If Randal is aware their kingpins are usually replaced due to strength factor, why don't they upgrade them at factory???

95% of the skaters out there wouldn't benefit from an 8mm axle. Hell, most don't use speed rings, bearing spacers, etc. For them, the 8mm axle is overkill.

Grade-8 kingpins, however, are a 'good thing' because they're stronger. Hit a crack wrong, and if the kingpin breaks, bad things happen.

Bottom line is that skateboards are considered 'toys.' Very few companies are willing to invest in improvements to make their products better. Even fewer skaters are willing to pay for the improvements.

If it'd keep me from busting my ass, no problem spending extra $$$

Pass it on:

Randal, upgrade your kingpins!!!
