've pissed off at grindking! My jay adams trucks are not holding up. I broke a kingpin on one, then my replacements kingpin is stripped. Does anyone know of any trucks that are about the same width and weight or lighter. More longboards tend to be heavy.

Orion 150's ( a little smaller)
Destructo High 6"ers (same size as old 159's)
if you wanna go a bit wider .. Destructo High 6.5s

the Destructo highs have a taller hanger /axle than most trucks and a pretty damn deep carve once you get the bushings broken in.

For some reason I've seen way more Grind King kingpins break recently. I've personally dealt with at least 8 of 'em. Now maybe that doesn't sound like a lot, but this is from a company that used to have virtually zero kingpins break.

It seems that ever since they started using the sleeve nut threaded baseplate, their new kingpins have had QC problems. Sleeve nut GK pins are different, they are threaded longer to accomodate the sleeve, so don't just go out and buy new GK kingpins unless they come with nut sleeves (not locknuts).

But if you don't grind, you can take a couple of hex kingpins and turn 'em upsidedown as a temporary fix. Then either take back the broken GK kingpin to the retailer or send it to GK and you'll get a new one.

One thing about the Adams (and the Thunderbird) is that you will be hard pressed to find trucks in the same width that are as light as these. It's hard to believe a truck as wide as the Thunderbird can feel so light.
