im looking to put different things in hamburgers. so far ive been using a mix of dried minced onions, garlic power, worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, yellow mustard and ketchup. i recently used teriyaki saude dried minced onions and garlic powder. both versions turned out pretty well (the teriyaki more so IMO) but im looking to put other things into the burgers.

the method im using currently is broiling them in the oven, i might grill them later.

im thinking of using taco seasoning and shaping them so you can put them on a tortilla and throw on some lettuce cheese salsa and sour cream or whatever else goes well in mexican food.

beyond that im not real sure what to put in the ground beef.

the challenge is it has to be a condiment, seasoning packet, etc., nothing fresh like onions. no mint, no rosemary! (i hate that shit), and nothing that tastes like licorice. ive done italian seasoning burgers and they're ok but im looking for soemthing different. maybe chinese five spice with some soy sauce and oyster sauce.

i thought about using zesty italian dressing as it works well as a marinade for chicken.

not exactly what you're talking about but I like to make 2 thin patties with a little garlic and salt& pepper and a pinch of cayenne pepper in em.

take a handfull of blue cheese (substitute your favorite melty cheese here if you hate blue cheese) put it on top of one patty.

take the other patty and sammich it over the cheese so it's in a sort of pocket between the 2 patties. seal the edges and broil/grill away. the cheese melts indside the burger and it ends up all juicy and good.

If you like the outside all crunchy, just LIGHTLY dredge it in bread crumbs and hit it with high heat. crunchy on the outside juicy on the inside. yum.

I've added precooked bacon into the meat. Last night went that way with some smoked fresh mozzarella, but determined smoked gouda is much better imo...another quick one is to smoke or olive oil cook an anaheim chili, peal and flatten on the burger. Then cover in that shredded Mexican cheese they've got in the packets. Like this on a steak, too.

make a spice blend of the following:
Dried lime peel
Dried minced green chiles
Dried minced garlic
Sea Salt
Black Pepper
Dried coriander
Dried horseradish.

Mix into the meat before pattying. Baste with a little Soy while cooking.

The Asian markets usually have both. There's also an Indian market in Birmingham that has damn near every dried spice known to man.

Toss some ground veal and ground pork in with the ground beef, some garlic powder and pepper.

Grill it.

Make some spread for the buns:

1 cup packed fresh basil
1 teaspoon of oregano
4 cloves garlic - peeled and sliced
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
2 tablespoons pine nuts
1 teaspoon of dried chili pepper flakes
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon of ground pepper
1 red pepper chopped
8 oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes (drained)
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

Put it in a blender a whiz it.

Slap the burger on a bun with the spread on it.
