Im no good at critiques, I think you have your own style and thats good, I like the fact you dont use alot of black lines. And let the color carry itself ,All in all keep up the great work! |

I liked what I saw, but some sort of slideshow option would be cool, instead of having to go back and forth to look at all of the pictures. |

I think your strong point is the graphics, the sketches left me cold and the paintings put me to sleep. Could be my mood too, though.
But I like everything in your graphics section. My fav is the KFC bucket! |

the drawings are all from years passed, stuff that was used as filler and needs to be updated/changed.

My 2 cents.. As an art college admission counselor, I have to review a LOT of portfolios..
The design work is definitely the strongest.. Cool "graphic" stylized stuff.. The drawings could use a little bit of fundamental form work. Pretty good use of value. Some of the stuff is a little too literal, though. Focus more on the form and less on the surface detail. The paintings are pretty good. Seem a little unfinished, though..
I'd let you into my school.
Keep it up.. |

mod,
by form do you mean the shapes that make up an object? by literal do you mean not concentrated enough on form? would this be improved by creating stronger contrasts and giving the drawings more impact?
i was admitted to minneapolis college of art and design, but will not attend until spring 06. i will also apply to a few other schools and idealy i'd like to get a scholarship. i have until then to concentrate on making a portfolio.
your comments are greatly valued. |

By form I mean the way objects are shaped and lit, by literal I mean the detail surface area like lettering and stuff like that that is on an object but does not add form. I like to see a full value range from dark to light in a drawing.
If you feel like moving to Atlanta, I work at the Atlanta College of Art.
