Oh yeah. New storm finally blew in some snow on Mammoth. About time. Last year, we had 3 feet from the first storm in October! A little later this year, but still not bad. Can't wait to get back on the board for this year.
So where do the rest of you S&Bers ski/board?
Oh, here's a link to the live Mammoth webcams! Main Lodge MammothCam!

so jealous. It's Utah or bust for me. Occasionally I make it up to Killington, but I do at least 2-3 weeks in Utah every year. Mostly back country. After I finish this job I think I'm going for a month. fingers crossed |

knowskate - not sure we met yet? did we? I'm part of the CT crew. We're down to the ABowl on Thurs and some sundays. BBone, Steved and I all snowboard and surf too. We're looking to do some backcoutnry (lame as it sounds) in NE this year. Try lost ski areas, maybe even get the balls to head to tuckermans. |

I'd be up for it, but I'm a city dweller sans automobile. My friend in UT said he saw some East Coast stuff in Couloir. My split is in UT along with pieps, probe, etc. Although I don't know if you'd need pieps in the east would you? Is there such thing as Avy's here? |

knowskate - let's catch up for a skate in NYC - ABowl? Subway accessible. And we can chat about winter wonderland!
Avi in NEast - not sure, but certainly good to know you have some experience. I had my first backcountry experience in Vail Pass CO last year and I'm hooked. We were lucky on the couple days we were out there -- b/c I had no avi or safety training, quite stupid in retrospect. My buddy knew a bit but that's not enough.
THis year all I've been doing is researching spots in the NNE. I'm not that familiar with the opportunities but there's a couple guys I ride with who konw a bit. STeved knows NH and VT and so does Billbonebrake. |

I hear Killington's open. Surprisingly strattion has some nice woods riding. The past few years they cleared out a bunch of smaller tree's around most of the mountain. I like strattion and jay for the east coast but overall whistler/blackcomb is it... mountain creek/vernon vally has a sick half pipe when its open and a top to bottom park. Thats where i ride most. Its about 20 miles from me. strattions about 220. Not bad at all. |

so, as you can see by my location... east coast hawd pack...
got our advantage cards for ski liberty/white tail in PA
always at least 1 trip to snowshoe... some of the best in the midatlantic... (which i know is really just a collection of bumps not mountains)
going to make a trip to whistler to scatter mr.phil's ashes early next year
