Anyone ever use this additive?
http://www.supertskiwax.com/sales.html
Hi-Florinated wax is the expensive wax used mainly for racing. PTFE is the additive in floro wax that makes it florinated and fast...it's teflon, plain and simple. I use Lo-floro wax (hydrocarbon wax + PTFE) all the time and it's faster than plain hydrocarbon or parafin wax. I know that nordic and downhill racers will also work in the raw PTFE in powder or fiber form for additional speed. You wax, scrap, and brush as usual and then iron the powder in as a final finish. I am wondering how much faster it really is. I ride with some fast fuckers and we are always dukin it out to the bottom. I am looking for a secret weapon so I never lose. I also ride Mt. Bachelor AKA Mt Flatchelor and sometimes you need all the speed you can get just to make it back to the lift.
Anyone ever use this PTFE stuff?
Buying the super bomb racing wax can be spendy http://www.racewax.com/buymfwax.html
I am wondering if I can get away with a good lo-flor wax http://www.racewax.com/buyfmax.html

i wouldn't pay for anything that expensive just for everyday use unless you compete or something. Usually some flourinated stuff or just the right temp wax & you're set... i get my stuff from
