Well, I took my son, Joey, up to Mammoth for his first day of the season. The snow hasn't really been anything compared to last year (we had huge dumps in October last year!), but the snow we did have was light and fluffy. I actually went by myself yesterday (wife gave me the day off!), and it was crowded as heck in the morning, so I left by 11am, and sessioned the new Brothers/Volcom skatepark in Mammoth.

Here's my son, cruising down Broadway - yes, that's the snow-making machines going full-bore in the background:

And here's my son at the top of chair 2, with the White Mountains in the far background. Had a very nice day:

Hope y'all's weekend was equally fun.

Joe G.

Nice, I love that place. Looks like Mammoth is going to get some of this front coming in today. Should be good for at least a foot. I hope so, I have to go to Carlsbad for xmas and I am planning on Tahoe and Mammoth to ease the pain.

Joe looks like a nice early season day W/ the fam.

Good to see the Northwest "Gettin some" they got screwed last year.

It's raining like hell in Tahoe right now, all the way up to 8900ft.

Wurd Yo!

Last year I drove to SoCal to catch a storm...way worth it. Baldy is so much fun when the conditions are right. Sounds like they are finally getting some snowmaking installed so they can deal with the dry years.
South Bowl is the shizzle.

I got to hit eric's last year and that is some seriously fun shit but in my lifetime, I have only had eric's with good conditions a handful of times. South Bowl on the other hand, much more common and pretty damn gnarly for SoCal.

Backside to Lytle Creek, once but maybe one of the best runs of my life...92-93 season. If you haven't been there in 20 years, I can tell you that nothing and I mean nothing has changed. The chairs are still the same down to the wooden slats you sit on...only 20 years older.

@ Joe,
I'll be up the second week of Jan. I haven't check the snow report for Mammoth as of late, is it still holding up? Last I heard was a 3ft Base...
