Killington is best mountain I've been to in the East, I've heard Stowe is a little better but it's a few hours farther and I've never been.

being a eastie i will say for southern vt okemo hands down, then stratton as a 2 nd choice. i had a killing pass 9 years ago and put in alot of days there and never really liked the place there really wasnt much tree riding and the park was not as good at stratton or okemos. i went there once last year and much hasnt changed.

now the best over all mountain in vt by a long shot is STOWE (southern mountains cant compare). it is well worth the extra hour of your time. if its a pow day and you like steeps and tree's and open face riding then jay peak is where you want to be.

yea i know are you left coasters are think tree riding in vt and laughing but my high speed branch ducking ninja skills are for real diamonds..the great thing about tree riding in souther vt is it does not get tracked out since they are to tight for 95% on the mountain.

Yeah, my helmet is proof that eastern trees are tough.

Slowkemo though? I don't know about that one. I've been there a hand full of times and was always bummed on it.

Stowe Kills!!!!

Also Ragged Mountain in NH is good for
fresh snow on weekdayz. Not crowded, fun!

Stowe is great; my "home" mountain in NE I suppose.... Excellent layout, challenging trails, nice overall vibe to the mountain and town... Definitely my favorite....

Jay Peak is really nice too... lots of glades to weave through, great snow, great views, absolutely no crowds... unless you count all the cute French Canadian chicks that migrate down from Montreal

Smuggs and Sugarbush are right up there as well. Can't go wrong really in Northern VT.
