I am new to the forums (although have a couple of posts under my belt) and read in another thread that you old bastards take kindly to those who introduce themselves. So, yeah, I'm 36 and live in Mass. (let the Masshole jokes fly) and typically skate bowls/ramps/concrete in MA, NH and ME, but I try to skate whenever I travel as well.
Anyway, I am heading to Indy for a family reunion in June and wanted to know about parks/spots in the area. I have done some research and found some good crete in Bloomington, Kokomo (holy crap!), Richmond and a few other places, but they are all like an hour+ outside the city. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for someplace closer to Indy. Major Taylor has reportedly been destroyed by BMXers and I can't find much of anything about the other "alleged" city park (Northeastway??). Ideally, I'd like to skate someplace that's family/kid friendly but am open to all suggestions. At this point I'm leaning toward Bloomington b/c it's got a great park with ball fields and courts and playground stuff.
Thanks.

Welcome - there's a number of cats from Indy on the forum, they'll no doubt chime in. |

Holy poo! Didn't realize it was so close. Maps.google says 1 hr. 48 mins. Mmmmmm, tempting.
Thanks,

if you go fast enough you can make it from indy to louisville in about 1:15. it helps to go at night. Me and a couple buddies once made it in 3:15 from about 40 miles south of chicago, although we were doing well over 100 most of the way. |
