Are there any companies that produce a board designed specifically for pushing? What features do you think would make a good pushing board?
I think a narrow drop thru that is around 35" would make a good board, 1 weight, 2 narrow is a more "natural" pushing stance(compared to a full sized LB),3 dropping means you don't bend so far down to push.
I thought I saw a board on Evolutions during the Earthwing section. Looked like a cabon fibre unit. Don't know if it was a Coleman design or not.

Landyachtz makes a little 36" or so drop deck. The Spud. Looks fun. Also looks like they are sold out for the moment.

Ive seen a carbon fiber deck with hugh wheels in radius but more like a "scooter" wheel in thickness. same sort of deck as used by a visiting pommy skater to skate across australia.

will try to find a link for you tomorrow.

RollsRolls would be my choice if I had to push any major distance. Big wheels, fenders, and super low and light. I took one push on a friends board he had skated across the country and I glided all the way across a parking lot. Pretty smooth.

Regular "drop deck" speedboards are good, but you have to look out and not hit the wheels with your feet - I totally ate it on a Landyachtz like that before when my foot clipped the front wheel, ha!

And also watch out for curbs and things. I tried to commute to and from work, however it was proving to be hazardous, because I would be going so fast and that the last minute I would need to ollie over something and then I had to just jump off. I'm wondering if that landy drop deck with the tail might be best in my situation. I would find out, however no monies.

when you say "push board" do you mean for this kind of pushing?

The Rolls-Rolls is definitely a great long-range pusher, but it's so low to the ground that you can scuff or drag it over stuff like even mild speed bumps or curb transitions. They work great otherwise.

Any dropped board can be set up to be a great long distance pusher. One you might like to check out that's not marketed for it, but works killer is the Bustin "Complex". It's dropped, with a kicktail and enough length to commute well with some 76mm wheels or so.
