I need a 'skate shop' style rack... 2 planks with wood dowels on a wall, like alot of you guys have. can anyone help ? |

Buy some wood and do it yourself, can�t see any problem if a saw & screw ar not your enemies. |

Its not but running power saws in an apartment is... not to mention that its not easy to drill the angled holes for the dowels without a proper drill press. |

i think they make a thing thats like a mitre box for drilling holes with all the angles pre-drilled in it,,either that get the exact size hole you want at the exact angle drilled in to a small piece of wood,,and use it as template for the wholes on your rack.

I'm moderately 'mechanical', so I was thinking:
Build a basic frame for wall (2x4s)
Attach those table leg kit flanges, you can find at Home Depot, etc. They come with the legs, which you could cut down if needed.
The flanges are already angled, so all ya gotta do is attach the flange to the frame and screw in the table legs, which have the screws built in...No holes to drill...
Anyway, I'm trying it this weekend, and if it works I'll take a photo. |
