This memorial day weekend the new Skate Monitor is going to start enforcing the helmet rule in Stamford CT. A police officer comes over and talks to her a lot. If you don't have your helmet I'm sure you won't be allowed to skate. She has been warning us for a while now.

Pretty stupid not to be wearing a helmet in the first place.

I've gotten used to wearing full gear, it's not bad.
When I go cruising down the street without gear, I worry.
45 year old men think like this.

I would be a vegetable or dead if I was not wearing a helmet last Tuesday. I knocked myself out for a good 10 to 15 seconds and I was wearing a helmet with all the other pads. Wear your helmet, and if anyone bugs you, send em to me.

I have seen that monitor lady there a couple times in the past few weeks. She just sits on the bench and talks on her cell phone all day, not saying anything to anyone (about helmets). Also, i was there yesterday and a cop was roaming around scalzi and stopping at the skatepark once in a while, but not saying shit to anyone.

I think this whole helmet deal is all a bunch of bullshit. Talk has been going on for awhile now.... but nothing has been enforced.

Popp we keep missing each other.

I was there today, til about 1. Spotted Jen the attendant, a cop, and a reporter. After a while watching the reporter talk to the cop and Jen I couldn't take it and went over there and blabbed about the history of skateboarding for 15 minutes ... and that bikers are the trespassers/fence wreckers.

I didn't touch the helmet issue with my 10' pole. Matt and Eric, who I would imagine are both repulsed wth the rules, were there with their lids. As were many others. So the imapct on attendance seems minimal. But folks were being sent away who came without them.

popp - That which is a bunch of bullshit is someone having to change some moron's diaper for the rest of his life because he was too stupid to wear a helmet. All it takes is a headbonk and life instantly sucks for you and everyone in your life.

Bill- i showed up on monday too, but after you left! Yeah, the helmet rule was being enforced. I happen to keep a helmet in my backpack, so i skated with Space a couple others for a bit. But my two friends, Caleb and Russell, were sent away by that big dyke cause they didnt have a helmet. Hopefully it dies down, but for now, i guess we have to wear helmets.....

I just love the rebels who wear a helmet but don't do it up and when they fall it flies away in some direction. Or better yet the ones that use those novelty baseball helmets. Fucking dumb.
