thank you no I learned to snowboard in the late 70's and early 80's when bindings were a joke and you were better off not using them...now they work why would I consider not using them...but then I prefer to go really fast

look again....those aren't step ins...I've been switch on that board, even carved switch though it's not the most comfortable board for slow shit...cruising at 20-40mph on the other hand

hardboot race board...BOOOOOOOO....... You may haul ass but 99.9% of the people riding a set up like that have no style.

It is very similar to seeing a telemarker......If they are good its a thing of beauty to see come down the hill, if they are slow and sucky with no style they are just in the way.

With technology the way it is these days you can ride a board that is useful in all conditions and still lay down some serious turns and haul ass without having to strap on ski boots.

Just my two cents.

wow such closed minds....that's not a race board, not even close to a race board these days, and my boots aren't skiboots as a matter of fact unless you are racing skiboots are painful. Style is what you make of it I guess, I like smooth arcing no slide turns and my line at my local hill is nothing but ruts in 4 hours. I compare it to motorcycles, most people ride the equivalent of a 250 4 stroke MX bike, I on the other hand prefer a Ducati 1098 Superbike

Back to the original topic Sorry I was so snobbish, I have tried it...it's a lot of work either on groom or in powder, Groom spooked the crap out of me not enough control for me to leave the bunny slope, Powder was much better but I live in Southern RI so any kind of dedicated pow board is a waste of money for me. A lot of the Noboard guys are from Salt Lake if I'm not mistaken, no shortage of pow there.

THESE DAYS? Don't really get what you're getting at, but in that case, its still a race board from the older days. & if that ain't a race board, what is it?

Nope, basically a step in if it ain't got straps. Look at your bindings...
What kind of boots do you rock in ski bindings? You wear a speed suit & those ugly alien helmets to be more aerodynamic as well?

So all you do is go, uh, fast? You ever go down the face of Valdez? Or take it to the back country in Whistler or Jackson hole?
You ever throw a 720 or do a boardslide?

Sounds like lots of fun. To each his own I guess.

Wolfgang Nyvelt. REAL noboarding. No rope.

just out of curiosity how old do you think that board is?

The board is an alpine shape but other than a remote shape similarity...that is a carving/cruising board not a race board...I can get 360's pretty easily but as a friend said my primary tricks are left and right turns...at 42 more than that is beyond what I'm interested in doing...I understand Alpine isn't for everyone but after nearly 30 years of snowboarding I find it more enjoyable to make precise turns than play in a trauma park. Never did Alaska, Corbet's Coulior is as extreme as I ever got

Raichle SB413 boots (see below) way softer than skiboots, the board is a 4 year old Coiler RC175 custom made for my weight/style (though not for me)
