Looking to get a general consensus about NOS...
Get a board new and over the years it picks up a little age (scratches, chips, etc) as it would be expected.
When does the scratches and chips get to the point the board would no longer be considered NOS or just because it never gets set it up will it always be NOS regardless of how poor the condition of the board gets?
thanks, |

Yeah, NOS is never ridden or set up, however, it won't be mint with cracks and scratches. |

This poll could have been better thought out. Side note - If the deck has never been skated, but set up, shit's NOS in my book. |

a deck should only be considered NOS if it no longer being made and was never sold at it's time of release and is still owned by either the manuf. company, the og distrib. or the og skateshop it was sent to.
once a deck is sold to a consumer or collector and passed on, it should no longer be considered old stock. |

NOS is exactly what it implies...new old stock. Decks that are no longer made that have never been ridden. They may have marks, nicks, scratches. Being set up imho does not mean it is not NOS. NOS and mint are definitely not the same to me. Mint is mint...perfect in every way, never set up, no marks/scratches, etc....This is as good as it can get. |

Agree - however, some shops set decks up as completes and some of the cheaper boards were completes. Mint is perfect like in shrink or just out of. |
