How's the health GF?
Early forecast, east coast gets pounded and the west coast is about average.
I'll take average, it always make for a fun winter. |

I had a funny feeling after you described your injury...three reconstruction surgeries myself. Do your rehab, ride a bike around town and you will be bomber for the season.
How many weeks post op are you? |

I've been in the club for a long time. First surgery was in 91, last surgery was in 2000.
Snowboarding for all of them. I had a bad habit of overshooting the landing back in the day. 2 on the left knee, one on the right, 5 screws in the left foot. It all works good now, I just "try" to stay clear of the park and ride natural jumps with long landings. It's hard, the parks are pretty fun at Mt. B. The Doc that does my knees is the US Ski Team surgeon and she tells me that snowboarding prior to being 6 months post op voids the warranty. While she knows it's going to happen anyway, she does stress that you are not totally healed for 6 months and it makes it easier to bust yourself up again.
Get a good brace for this season, you are going to be riding long before you are fully healed. It takes 6 months for that new ACL to grow back into your body. You are going to feel solid long before that.
I think riding a bike around town is one of the easy ways to get the mobility back and build good muscles back at the same time. You obviously need to do the PT but if you are on the fast track, riding a bike in addition to PT will get you back faster.
Did you get the hamstring graft? |

not if you know where to look...
when I lived on Mt Snow..you could get a weeks worth of riding out of a good powder storm..if you knew where to go..you could spend 2 or 3 days in the woods and hidden spots on Snow(had a friend who worked there in the summer who did nothing but ride around in the woods on a quad with his dog and a chainsaw..
then head over to haystack for another couple of days cause no one ever went there...
that of course was if the weather held up temp wise...

As long as it's not from your patella, you are good to go....as long as the dead guy doesn't want his parts back too. You did see that Simpsons episode where Homer got the hair transplant right?
Good healing, you will be good as new in a couple months.
Again, any of you peeps make in to Oregon, I would be honored to give you the tour and a place to stay. |
