That's why I love reading slob's posts regarding bearings.

I have a question...

How can each of Ron's runs of bearings be "even faster", why doesn't he go ahead and make THE FASTEST now?

just curious...

I've been skating since 1974 and have rode just about every bearing available at this point. My super bias is based on my own experience—ain't nothin faster.

When I discovered Ron I did a story on him as he was truly unique—the only skater in the history of skateboarding to design and engineer a bearing. From what I learned interviewing him and later riding his bearings and realizing how truly amazing his bearings were, I secured Canadian Distribution. However, I don't need to "sell" them, they sell themselves.

Its called evolution in design and engineering. You can't rush evolution. Ron keeps finding ways to make them better and faster. It's quite fucking amazing.

Same with his lube—especially his extreme lube. Most lubes have a noticeable percentage of water in them. But when we tested Ron's Extreme Lube last week, under heavy vacuum, we didn't even get a drop. My guess is he based that lube off the lube he developed for his bearings on the space shuttle.

ceramics not involved. I will admit ron's are the best I've ridden in many ways. I only pick biltins because they are cheaper and allow for less parts.

Less parts?

Biltins are the tanks of the skateboard bearing market. Not really super fast, but nearly indestructible. They are even better with the races polished and ceramic balls.

The ceramic versions of Rockets Stage III are insanely fast and I have as yet had to warranty a set—ever... steal ball or ceramic.

Less parts as in. Don't have to worry about spacers and speed rings.

The extended center rings do not meet in most wheels (including ABEC 11) so that could be a concern.

Ron's bearings are far and away the best bearings made.

There are others that are pretty good (Bones Swiss 6), but none as good as his

Ron's bearings rock!!

I have some Powell ceramics and Swiss 6's that are quite excellent as well.

In comparison to Ron's and Powell's top end bearings, every thing else sucks donkey balls.

There are some decent low price mid performance bearings out there which is good, but damn, after skating this long, I deserve the F-1 race car over the Neon.
