Well, ill be gettin this MFer inked on the left side of my neck prolly at the beginin of next month(schedule permittin) and i was wondering if i should just go with it like how i drew it here, as solid black outline.. with just a little grey here and there, or get some more significant grey shading done in with it. ive never really bothered with color or much shading yet, so just lookin for some opinions. dont want it to get too clustered lookin after its already done
I drew this up one night when i still worked at a QuikStop.. ive gotten kinda fond of it.. lol
its all pen, btw.. just inverted digitally and thats it. |

1) Simplify it. Waaay too much stuff going on for a neck. Just a skull and skateboard. Smoke/blasts optional. Make it instantly recognizable from 6 feet away.
2) Go for some color (why not), and more importantly plenty of deep blacks to make it jump out and also to make it "last."
3) Move to SF so you can actually get this. |

Why should he move to Southern Florida?
Just kidding, but I do agree with the skull and deck. Go simple.
I would go black and gray, maybe make the dot on the deck red.
Then shade the hell out of it! |

That looks so sick, but I gotta agree, probably a little much for a neck tat. Mess with it some or leave it as is and get it somewhere else. |
