OK, this is something my granny came up with since she had to feed 9 kids on a budget. Not gourmet by any stretch of the imagination but this is some good comfort food.

Make your standard type meatballs and pan fry till outsides are browned. I'd think about 12 meatballs should be had from a 1LB packet of ground beef after you add your breadcrumbs, minced onion, garlic ect ect. Make as many as you wish since wet ingredients can be added to reflect the amount of meatballs.

Add to a large roasting pan with a lid.

Add a large can of stewed tomatoes (home made canned tomatoes are best). Pour over meatballs in roasting pan. Use two cans if your making a lot of meatballs.

Proceed to add a regular sized can of peas (add 2 cans if using a lot of meatballs) and add to roasting pan.

Depending upon how much sauce or gravy you want you can add about a can's worth of the juice if using 2 cans of peas. Maybe use 1/2 a can of the juice if only using 1 can of the canned peas.

This may sound odd to some of you but the juice from the canned peas kind of adds something to the tase that just works. Granny invented this so I don't mess with it.

Salt and pepper to taste depending upon how much you seasoned the meatballs while browning or how you mixed them.

Toss in the over at about 350 deg and cook for about 45 minutes to an hour. Sometimes a squirt of ketchup into the sauce mix while cooking can that certain something something.

I like to thicken the sauce with a roux mixture and thicken to how you llike it.

Serve meatballs and sauce over a heap of mashed or garlic mashed potatoes and proceed to party.

Everytime we make this, me and my girlfriend fight over the left overs it is that good.

Budget cooking is great. You can make some great one-pot meals that last days and keep getting tastier.

I think anything may taste better than that. I'm trying to imagine it but just can't.

So rad. I remember Mitch and I still really like Personality Crisis. He is good friends with an old friend of mine. You probably even know her from back in the punk rock Calgary days.

I showed him a copy I have of Creatures For A While on red vinyl and he had no clue about it being released that way.

Rad... Haven't seen Mitch in so long... Greatest fucking band ever. I've been jamming with the bass player for the last 3 weeks.

Cool.

That Creatures For A While album is timeless. It still kicks major ass.
